How to improve the water resistance of TPU materials?
1. Change the polyester structure
(1) Polyester synthesized by mixing adipic acid and terephthalic acid in a certain proportion has good water resistance;
(2) Introducing a certain proportion of polyether into the polyester structure can be random copolymerization or block copolymerization into polyetherester, which can greatly improve the water resistance;
(3) In the process of synthesizing polyester, controlling its acid value below 0.1 can also maintain its performance basically stable.
2. Add anti-hydrolysis stabilizer
Adding polycarbodiimide (PCD) to polyester TPU can improve its water resistance. The commonly used anti-hydrolysis agent is Stabaxol P200 (Bayer), the dosage is 0.5-2.5% by weight of the polyol.
